In-tank Filters
Description
In-tank filters are rainwater filters which are installed directly within the rainwater tank.
The majority of filters have a rainwater inlet, clean water outlet, and waste water outlet. Usually a pipe leads the cleaned water into the calmed inlet installed at the base of the tank (which also acts to support the weight of the filter). The waste water outlet must be connected to the sewer.
Only total retention filters do not have a waste water outlet. They collect all debris in a basket which has to be emptied regularly. Total retention filters are typically used for infiltration and sometimes collection of rainwater for use in the garden.
